We are urgently seeking to recruit an experienced Ophthalmic nurse for 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays) to assist our client with retina surgeries (specifically complex cataract and vitrectomy surgeries). Due to the nature of the clinic you may need to be certified for a number of research studies.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Prior professional nursing experience and Certification in Ophthalmology preferred
  • Experience working in an ophthalmic setting, experience conducting vision tests
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients and caregivers
  • Attention to detail required for recording medical histories and exam results

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, compassion and dedication
  • Current valid NMC registration
  • Current satisfactory Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • Minimum 12 months recent relevant UK experience
  • Current and up to date training records
  • 2 professional clinical references

 

The ideal nurse must be reliable, self-motivated and able to work as a member of a team to provide high level patient care in a variety of clinical settings.
